Commitment and attendance
- Regular attendance: Players are expected to attend all scheduled practices, games and team meetings. Each coach determines how many unexcused absences are allowed for their team.
- Notification: If an absence is unavoidable, players must notify their coach a reasonable amount of time in advance, as specified by the coach. Emergency situations will be taken into consideration.
- Punctuality: Players are expected to arrive on time for all team activities. Chronic lateness will not be tolerated. Each team’s coach determines the applicable grace period.
- Tasks: Competition players are required to perform tasks before or after games. These are table-official or referee duties.
- Referee licence: Competition players are also required to obtain a referee qualification. Punch will provide the course.
Behaviour and conduct
- Respect: Players, coaches, referees and opponents must always be treated with respect. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disciplinary action.
- Sportsmanship: Display good sportsmanship at all times, whether winning or losing. Celebrate success with humility and show grace in defeat.
- Uniforms: Players are responsible for keeping their uniforms and equipment in good condition. Lost or damaged items must be replaced at the player’s expense.
- Bullying and harassment: Bullying, harassment and all forms of discrimination will not be tolerated. Report incidents to the coach or team captain immediately.
- Substance abuse: The use of drugs or alcohol during practices and games is strictly prohibited.
Communication
- Team group chat: Players must respond in a timely manner to important updates, event reminders and schedule changes in the team group chat.
- Conflict resolution: Issues or concerns should be raised directly with the coach or team captain in a respectful and timely manner.
Disciplinary action
- Violations: Violating a house rule may result in disciplinary action.
- Repeat offences: Repeated violations will result in more severe consequences.
These house rules are intended to maintain a positive and productive team environment. All players are expected to follow them to support the success and unity of their team. Team-specific limits, including the permitted number of absences and the grace period for punctuality, are determined by each team’s coach.
